Since it opened to foreign trekkers in 1977, Annapurna
Circuit Trek is renowned as one of the most spectacular
and varied walks in the world with lush green valleys
and fascinating villages that offer impressive snow-capped
views of the white Himalayas. Tilicho Lake is one of those
places that have had next to mythic connotations. The
Annapurna undoubtedly provides some of the world's best
trekking routes, including as it does a greater variety
of scenery and culture than can be found in any other
comparable area. The route via Tilicho Lake and the two
passes (Masokanto La 5099m and Tilicho Pass 5230m) that
guard it from the Kaligandaki Valley beyond is still used
and offers the adventurous and fit trekker high mountain
scenery at its very best. Masokanto La is low altitude
pass than Tilicho but more technical and need to be use
rope. With same timeframe you can also attempt the Tilicho
pass.
Starting from less than 1,000 meters, it gives us a chance
to explore the Himalayas from bottom to top and from many
different angles and perspectives. This three week trek
starts right from Besisahar which goes along the Marshyangdi
River, with great views of Manaslu and Himal Chuli to
the east
Skyline treks leads you to the fine
village, inhabited by a wide diversity of people from
different ethnic groups, offering spectacular and majestic
views of the Himalayas. Continuing to the north of the
main Himalayan range to the high and dry Tibetan Plateau,
the scenery is equally breathtaking. Lowland, farming
communities of Brahmin and Chettri people , slowly, to
the highland trading communities of Magar and Gurung people
of Mongoloid stock. As the people change, so does the
dominant religion. Close up views of the Annapurna range,
varied eco-systems, diverse cultures and an ever-changing
landscape - lush, green paddy fields and oak forests,
arid deserts and the deepest gorge in the world make this
one of the most popular treks in the world.
